Fellow Trojans,

I would like to extend a warm and gracious welcome to you and thank you for joining our little community here at Ankara High School Connections.

Some five years ago, I began a quest to start reconnecting with fellow students of my era at George C. Marshall High School (1971-1973). To that end, I started a simple little ‘My Family’ website and started sending invitations to those people that I already had an email address for. Over time, more and more people began logging on and started posting, keeping everyone updated with what was going on in their lives, with their families, jobs, etc. (If you would like an invitation to join, please send me an email at the email address listed below.)

As an attendee at both the 1996 and 2000 Reunions in Dallas, I realized just how much reconnecting with some old classmates meant to me. To that end, I have always tried to keep in touch with people and keep the lines of communication open for expansion.

Over the last month or so, I have been very fortunate to become acquainted with a couple of dynamite ladies that share my vision of a better, stronger, and friendlier community of alumni. Their dedication and commitment to being a valuable resource to the Ankara High School community is unparalleled by anything else you might find. Like me, their time in Turkey was special as are/were the friendships they developed.

With the launch of Ankara High School Connections, I can sense my mission as coming almost full circle. Working with Anita Donohoe and Jill Doyle has allowed me to become more involved in helping our fellow students reconnect. The pooling of our resources allows each of us to focus on what we do best, and to share this information with each other.

The vision that Jill, Anita and I have for Ankara High School Connections is unified, clear, and accurate. In the following weeks and months you will find us adding features to the website to make it more dynamic and informational.

Ankara High School Connections is a site for the Alumni. Our efforts are strictly voluntary and we will NOT be seeking donations or contributions. There will be no mailers and the cost of maintaining the website is nominal. All information you provide us in your registration will remain strictly confidential, and no information will be released to anyone without your express approval.

We ask that you bear with us as we fine tune and tweak the website. We know that we will hit some bumps here and there, and ask for your patience. We would also like to ask for your suggestions to improve the site or additions you feel will enhance Connections. All suggestions will be given serious consideration. Remember, this site is not about us, it is for you.

ON YOU TROJANS!
