Turkey Tour 2006
Cappadocia Arrival

All the way from Iznik to Cappadocia were apartment buildings where every balcony shared a chimney for its fireplace. I thought this was a great idea, a BBQ pit on every balcony, plus an area to sit outside and keep warm when cold weather hits.

PeasantsView

When we reached Cappadocia, we were treated to lunch in an 18th Century peasant home that sat atop nine levels of grotto carved into the volcanic ash. We were served home made cacik, borek and a stew of dried beans and beef cooked in an oven.

This is a view from the garden of the peasant house.
