On Saturday, March 10th, a few alumni met for a Turkish dinner and belly dancing at the Bird House Grill in Encinitas, near San Diego. Iskender kebab was the favorite choice after a traditional meze of patlican, leeks and other Turkish appetizers.
Yvette has an established relationship with the owners due to her consistent minis there. Gordy was in town from Dallas on business, so it was a good excuse to put out the call.
Jim DeAngelo came from Los Angeles with Greg Andranovich, and Anita flew in from Santa Barbara. A few local Turkish friends joined us this time. Isil Oz, a journalist for the Turkish Journal, wrote a story about the mini.
