Richard Lasley Perry, 58, of 404 Janie Street, Kannapolis, died Saturday, April 30, 2005, at his home. A memorial service is scheduled for 11:00 am Thursday, May 5, 2005, at St. John's United Church of Christ. Rev. Jimmy Norred and Ms. Dal Mead will officiate. Burial will follow at the W.G. "Bill" Hefner V.A. National Cemetery in Salisbury. The family will receive friends at the church from 10 to 11:00 am on Thursday prior to the service. Mr. Perry was born September 18, 1946 in Cabarrus County. He was the son of George W. Perry and the late Dorothy Pearl Voss Perry. He retired in 1986 as a Master Sergeant with 20 years of service in the U.S. Air Force. He later worked as a National Security Agent with the Civil Service. He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ where he was also Scout Master of Troop 138. Mr. Perry, in addition to his father, is survived by his wife, Barbara Jo Farr Perry; daughter, Regina Louise Perry of Kannapolis; and three grandchildren, Ruth Louise Goodnight, Kassandra Louise Henley, and Brandon Alexander Henley.
