Velma J. Stewart of Golden, a teacher, died Dec. 19. She was 66.
Services were Dec. 23 at Mount Vernon Country Club. There was cremation
She was born July 12, 1929, in Grand Junction. She graduated from Colorado State University. She taught in Glenwood Springs before joining the U.S. Department of Defense. There she taught dependents of armed forces members for 36 years. She was a conservationist and belonged to the Denver Zoological Foundation, where she was recently selected as a docent.
She is survived by her mother, Edith Krause, Montana.
