On the way to Maria’s home on the campus of Robert College, we made our way through Istanbul’s rush hour traffic. Vendors take advantage of the stop and go traffic to offer various items such as cell phone chargers, window cleaning, snacks and flowers.

Robert College

This is the main building on the high school campus. You can see student council campaign posters hanging over the entrance.

I have known Ali since the 60s, having met him during one of my trips to Istanbul back then. This was the first time we saw each other in more than 40 years. He and Maria already knew each other because she lived in the same building as Ali’s mother in law.

Ali and Maria were sitting on the deck before we went inside for a wonderful Turkish dinner.

We are standing at the edge of Maria’s large deck at her home on the campus of Robert College. This was our last evening in Turkey.
