Turkey Tour 2006
Iznik
Iznik Walls |
St. Sofia Church We drove past the ancient city walls and went inside this old St. Sofia church in Iznik, a city founded circa 1000BC, still famous for its pottery. We saw the old kilns where pottery was fired. At our hotel that evening, there was a major gathering to celebrate a circumcision. The young boy entered, proudly dressed all in white with a cape, a crown and a scepter. He knew he would become a man later in the evening. |
