The group is listening to Isa tell the history of the first hospital. Psychology played a major role in healing, and the patients had to walk in under their own power. Anyone terminally ill or pregnant was not allowed to enter.

Holy Well

Looking down into the holy well of Asklepion. The water is slightly radioactive and is still believed to cure all ills. We drank from this well.

There is water from the holy well running down the side of the steps into this tunnel. Patients would be sent down into the dark tunnel and told to concentrate on the sound and listen for the voice of Asklepios. The physician would whisper from the small openings above.
