Turkey Tour 2006
George C. Marshall High School, Ankara Turkey
The School I
The School After passing through security at the gate of the Turkish military base, we were warmly greeted in front of the school by our hosts, Assistant Principal Mustafa Bulut and Patricia Ulku. Neslihan Girginkoc 75 and my old friend Erdal “Mike the Turk” Bargut joined us for the visit. As he had done at the Purple Pit, Mike often visited the school to see his friends, so it was a reunion for him too. Anita Donohoe 66; Assistant Principal Mustafa Bulut; Patricia Ulku |
GCM Packet Each of us was presented with a packet from the school. Principal Joe Robinson was in the hospital recovering from surgery, so he added the Welcome note. I purchased the pennant from the table of t-shirts, sweatshirts and pompoms. Oh, how they tried to push those pompoms, but none of us wanted to buy them! |
Ms. Fusun Agusman We visited a couple of classrooms; one of them was Ms. Fusun Agusman’s Host Nations class. She had little vendor carts set up around the classroom so the students could role-play and learn to shop in Turkish. |
Computer Lab In his Computer Lab, Dave Simpkins gives credit for Photoshop, Microsoft Security and has the students producing films and promotional videos. |
