Elecronic Visa Application System
Effective April 10-11, 2014, new visa requirements will be in place for foreign travelers visiting Turkey. Up to this date, visitors to Turkey could obtain a visa for tourism or trade purposes upon their arrival in Turkey. Under the new rules, however, that practice will be discontinued, and travelers will need to obtain their visa prior to their departure for Turkey.

The Turkish Embassies in Washington and Ottawa have advised that foreign travelers should visit the e-visa application system to apply for an e-visa electronically in advance of their trip. The recommendation from the embassy is that travelers submit their application at least one week prior to their departure. Your passport must be at least 6 months old before travel to Turkey.
